It’s such an abstract, woo woo technique, especially in the way it’s described and practiced. It's not a concrete, tangible concept with a deep scientific backing for the left-brainers to comprehend clearly.
Even though science hasn’t caught up yet, it doesn’t change the fact that you’re constantly manifesting things whether you’re intentional with it or not. There’s no off switch to this process. It’s always happening because it’s just how the Universe works. This isn't new knowledge either. We've just been using it unconsciously.
So instead of just having this as happenstance, why not leverage the power of the Universe to help you manifest what you desire?
Behind the scenes of manifestation
Think of manifestation as the movement in your body. You’re doing it even though you’re not consciously willing your bones, muscles, tendons, joints, ligaments, and other connective tissue in your arm and legs to act in a certain way to create movement in your body. They just all work together seamlessly when you set a greater intention, such as “I want some coffee” (It’s early in the morning as I’m writing this) then you’re walking into the kitchen to make some.
When you set the intention of what you want, the Universe is pulling all the strings behind the scenes to make what you want to happen. It’s trying to get the right circumstances to happen, so things unfold in a particular way to deliver what you desire. If one thing is off by a split second, there’s a chance that it doesn’t happen.
It seems like an easy request, but there’s a lot that goes into it that you’re not aware of. It’s a highly complicated process as the Universe is factoring in the result and consequence of each action, like a line of dominos.
But why doesn’t it always work out in the way I want it to be?
Strengthening your manifestation skills is like working out
If you want your body to be stronger, boost your endurance, and be at a peak state, it takes conscious effort, intention, repetition, and time to get the results you want. It’s a skill that requires the know-how and discipline to get there.
And just like how every body is different, how quickly someone can get the hang of manifestation and manifest the results they desire varies on what your current state of mind is like. For example, if you’re overweight, it’ll take you longer to get a slim, toned body. So if you’re filled with limiting beliefs, doubt, and constantly putting yourself down, manifesting what you desire will take more conscious effort. Those countering beliefs become the energetic blockers that throw obstacles in the way of the Universe trying to deliver you what you desire.
The Universe always gives you what you asked for
If you think you can’t do it, then it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and the Universe creates the circumstance of you not being able to do it.
If you asked for something in a general and vague way, the Universe will deliver whatever fits within that super open ended request.
So be aware of “how” you ask for it. Words are powerful. It creates and evokes a certain feeling and meaning, which is powered by your mental and emotional state. For example, if you “want” to manifest love and feel desperate and frustrated with your singledom, the Universe delivers your continual want by creating circumstances where you stay in the state of “wanting” it and not getting it.
That’s why powerful goal-setting techniques get you to write your desired goals in the present tense as if you already have what you desire.
Manifestation empowers you
Yes, it does! Ultimately, it shows you that YOU are responsible for your results. If you’re not getting the results you want, reflect back and track what are the things you thought and did that gave you these results you received.
After you set your intention, manifestation empowers you to work toward what you desire most through the path of least resistance. It teaches you to be more aware of what you’re thinking and guides you to take more conscious actions. It’s a strategy that’ll help you get what you want sooner because you’ve set yourself up with a good mental foundation to get there.
Manifestation is a skill. It requires practice, trial and error, and discernment to figure out what works best for you for where you’re at mentally right now. As you get stronger, what’s required will change and evolve with you. The practices will seem easier, especially when it becomes second nature, and you’ll manifest your results much quicker, too.
Of course, there are some general guidelines and common practices. They’re good to reference and a great start to building your manifestation foundation.
After understanding the bigger concepts, stay curious and have fun with this to figure out which techniques and mental practices are a good fit for you. It's like exploring different types of workouts and activities to figure out what you enjoy most to make working out more sustainable long term.
Shift the perspective in your mind that manifestation is like “wishing” for what you desire. Consider manifestation as a practice of training your mind to be in a positive, open minded state to allow what you desire to happen for you.
